The time @uncannyannieblog & liampicken stayed at #HBNB
If you haven't heard about #HBNB yet, you're missing out.
In an Australian first, Homebuyers Centre Victoria is giving YOU the opportunity to stay in our new Cloverton display home overnight, taking the notion of ‘try before you buy’ to a whole new level.
To celebrate the launch of #HBNB, we invited AFL/Social Media power couple, Liam Picken & Annie Nolan (you may know her as @uncannyannieblog), and their three kids to spend the night! Annie's sister also came along to find out what living in a Display Home might be like (and ended up doing all the cooking! Smart move Annie).
Here's how it went down:
5.30pm: Family arrived after watching Frozen on Ice in Melbourne! (And the July weather felt like we were on ice too - but not inside...)
The family "checked-in" to #HBNB and went straight for the Pumpy Jackson vegan chocolates - part of the custom hamper by Afternoon Pick Me Up - DELISH!
Next it was time for dinner - Tempeh Bolognese on the menu from the open-plan kitchen of the Regent 22 home.
After dinner was bath time in the main bathroom! Shoutout to Afternoon Pick Me Up who hooked us up with some amazing food shaped Cruelty-Fee bath bombs from Oh Deer Sugar.
Annie, Liam, Malachy, Delphine & Cheska all popped on their HBNB bathrooms to relax while dessert was being prepared - vegan chocolate zucchini cupcakes, cooked to perfection in the home's Westinghouse stainless steel oven.
Here's some happy snaps from @uncannyannieblog's Instagram story from the evening:
The four-bedroom home, two-bathroom home meant some big decisions had to be made.. WHICH ROOM TO CHOOSE?!
Delphi, naturally went for the master suite, which boasts a large vanity, shower and walk-in robe for parents, with the children’s wing featuring its own bathroom and three additional bedrooms, all with built in robes and plenty of storage.
After some deliberation, the decision was made and it was time for bed! The Regent 22 floorplan is Ideal for growing families which considers the needs of both parent and children, with a dedicated children’s wing towards the rear of the house allowing parents their own sanctuary.
8.00am the following morning... WE HAD A SLEEP IN! Twins Delphine & Cheska slept in their own rooms for the first time, according to Annie on Instagram:
"The girls slept in different rooms for the first time in pretty much their whole lives! (I don't think being transferred into different NICU rooms as newborns counts ) Shows how comfortable they felt staying here last night. Thank you @homebuyerscentrevic for having us stay We had an awesome time. Now the girls are begging for different bedrooms I think Delphi likes going to sleep without her sister singing to her, haha ... The home we stayed in was seriously incredible and I can understand why one of these homes is so appealing to first homebuyers and families," she shared.
9.00AM - TIME FOR BREAKFAST!
The team from the Waterside Cafe at Highlands, Craigieburn popped in to give the family a FEAST to start the day - just like the HBNB winners will! It's safe to say they went ALL OUT...
After a good night's sleep and full bellies, it's home time - special thank you to Annie, Liam and the family for trying out #HBNB and spending the night in Homebuers Centre's Regent 22 Display Home at Cloverton, Kalkallo VIC.

“ We receive a lot of feedback from people who visit our display home about how much they would love to live there, so we though why not?”
- Simon Mongan, General Manager Homebuyers Centre Victoria
Stamp duty savings and the First Home Owners Grant make it a great time for first home buyers to enter into the property market. We know it is a big decision, so as part of our commitment to coaching first home buyers, we’ve created this competition to allow them to test drive the home and ensure it fits their lifestyle.
The display home is located in Kalkallo, Victoria and is part of the Cloverton estate – set to become Victoria’s largest masterplanned community currently under development by Stockland.
The suburb will eventually house 30,000 residents, eight schools, a tertiary institution, parklands and a retirement village all within a 45-minute train ride of the CBD.
