Customer Story: Matt and Olivia’s spacious first home
Young new home buyers, Matt and Olivia, were pleasantly surprised by the ease of building their very first home.
While some can be nervous beginning the process of home ownership, this young couple say that crafting their waterside single-storey four-bedroom, two-bathroom Lawson 25 brought them nothing but joy.
‘Our experience throughout the entire process was very smooth,’ says Matt.
‘There were times that we needed to clarify something or have someone run us through a process, and there was always someone who you could call.’
Upfront & transparent

‘Especially when it’s your first home, you can’t afford to have the price blow out,’ says Matt.
‘Having the building price fixed in means you know exactly what you’re going to pay and that there won’t be any changes. So that’s really handy.’
Light, bright living-dining
Matt and Oliva moved into their new home in December 2022 and couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out. Together, they’ve created a coastal oasis featuring a mix of creamy whites and timber accents. The couple spend most of their time in their light and bright living-dining area, either lounging together or entertaining friends and family.
But for Olivia, her favourite room is the traditional hub of the home where the couple splurged on some upgrade items.
‘My favourite room in the home would definitely be the kitchen. With Caesarstone benchtops and 900mm appliances, as well as the overhead cupboards,’ she says.
‘We love having the place to ourselves and enjoying the space. It’s a beautiful quality build.’
Avid landscapers and entertainers, they’ve also enjoyed crafting their outdoor alfresco and gardens to fit their social lifestyle.
‘You move into the house and everything is done on the inside, and then the outside is just gravel or clay. You then have the opportunity to think about how you want the area set up – I think that’s one of the most exciting parts,’ says Matt.
‘At the start of construction, it was really easy to explain where we needed the house to be in regards to our landscaping plan and the way the sun travels. We were able to flip the Lawson floorplan so we could get all our north facing windows and get all the sun in.’
Both Olivia and Matt agree that Homebuyers Centre is a reliable and high-quality builder, particularly for your first home.
‘Most people say building is a really stressful process, but we haven’t had any of those issues building through Homebuyers Centre,’ says Olivia.
‘I would 10 out of 10 recommend them to anyone.’
