Tayla and Melissa’s coastal retreat
Young first home buyers Tayla and Melissa weren’t looking to build – the perfect build found them.
Self-confessed design enthusiasts, the couples spent many weekends trawling the display home circuits for ideas and inspiration. But like many young people, they didn’t think the dream of home ownership was even possible. That was until they stepped into the beautiful creamy interiors of Homebuyers Centre’s display in Melbourne’s South East.
‘We never really planned on building but we walked into the display home and we were both were like: ‘this feels like home’ says Melissa, who built the three-bedroom, two-bathroom Harrison 25 with Viva façade.
‘We spoke to the consultant and, two weeks later, we had a house.’
Achieving a beautiful coastal interior design
The couple were looking for a ‘bright and fresh’ aesthetic that offered a beachy vibe, even in the depths of Victoria’s winter. The Harrison’s light-filled open-plan kitchen, dining and living was perfect for summertime entertaining. ‘We upgraded to the Cali exterior, which blended perfectly with the interior and worked well with the Viva façade,’ says Melissa.
‘We wanted the nicest house on the street and we got it.’
An easy and enjoyable build journey
